The digital world and your health. Stress, anxiety, insomnia, aches and pains … all related to our reliance in digital communication.
It’s almost 2019. I think by now we are all aware of how detrimental to our health our addiction to the digital world is. Hands up who checks their phone for Facebook messages first thing in the morning and last thing at night? Who scrolls mindlessly through their newsfeed for hours? Who has an anxiety attack when they’re away from their devices for too long?
Wouldn’t it be lovely if we could detox ourselves from digital life. January is often thought of the beginning of a year where things can start fresh. Some of us have tried juicing to detox our gut after the excesses of the Christmas season (which let’s face it is more than just a day or two … it’s the whole month of December!). Why not try a digital detox?

Detoxing doesn’t mean you have to give things up cold turkey. Even pledging to reduce your time on social media is a start. The average person spends 24 hours a week online (Telegraph). That’s a huge amount of time! No wonder it’s becoming a stressful part of our lives.
Wouldn’t it be lovely to get that day back.
In January why not actively take a step back from your reliance on digital media. Pick up a book or a real newspaper instead of surfing the soundbites on Facebook. Go for a walk, try a new exercise class, or even just call someone on the phone the old fashioned way (no Facetiming!).
To support this endeavour Dermalogica are introducing their Digital Detox ProSkin 60 facial. Fully customisable to you, our bespoke facials can be tailored to specifically target signs of digital stress: “tech neck”, anxiety and racing thoughts, and insomnia are all conditions that can be improved by a little relaxation.
We will be offering Digital Detox ProSkin 60 treatments in January with a 15% discount when quoting #digitaldetox, until then take a deep breath and relax!
Step away from your computer, phone or tablet.
We’ll still be here when you get back.
